The Inauthenticity of Instant Forgiveness

I’d like to let those who love me know that if my cop neighbor accidentally opens my door thinking it’s her own apartment, and shoots me on my couch while I’m eating ice cream and watching football, after a trial convicts her, please do not hug her in court claiming, “this is what Mark would have wanted.” That would not be what I would have wanted.
